Wildcard Question (max 200 words)
The Offer of Vitality Question (~400 words)

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the expected time commitment?
Simply put: what you put in is what you get out of it. In terms of education, unique experiences, service to humanity, service hours, and much more. You only let down yourself and your teammates by not showing up. That being said, expect to spend at the very, very, least 10 hours a week (triple during breaks). Notify well ahead of time before going on vacation, other programs, or any other situation. "Early is on time, on time is late"
What is the program timeline?
Each season, the program runs from June-June (usually aligns with end of school year in Fremont). Members may resign at any time, but their position will not be filled until the following year's application cycle. Virtually every Vitality member stays through high school graduation.
Do I need to live in Fremont to apply to Vitality?
Generally yes; most of our work is in person. Unless you are willing to make long drives multiple times a week, only students in or near the Fremont area should apply to Vitality. However, Institute for Vitality is launching more Vitality programs nationwide, so be on the lookout if interested.
What is the cost for Vitality?
Generally, it sits somewhere around $500/student/year plus travel expenses. If the student is active, there will be around 1000 hours of experience per year. Notify us ahead of time if there is genuine financial need and we will try to make something happen. Unfortunately, the costs to run the lab and create these experiences are very high.
What is the acceptance rate for Vitality?
We purposely admit a very, very small number of students a year (5-7) due to what it takes to manage the organization. When there are too many students, it will be nearly impossible for there to be true student self-governance. Therefore, the acceptance rate is well within the single digits and has decreased every year since our founding due to no student population change and increasing number of applications.
What experience do I need to apply?
No experience required. We want students who genuinely want to learn, to serve humanity, and to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.
